Around the Block

Sunlit Vigil

My mum, at 99 years old, has sadly entered her end of life phase, comfortable in her care home bedroom. We flew into Edinburgh just after 7am this morning and borrowed Dot’s car to get us across to a sun-kissed Largs.

Mum has been sleeping or unconscious since we arrived and we needed a doctor to come in to alter her meds to make her more peaceful, still.

We orally recounted all the adventures we had shared with her spanning hemispheres and continents over the years and Dd thought she saw an eyebrow rise at one point. One can only hope it was done in fond remembrance!

We will sit by her bed tonight to help her off on her latest adventure whatever that may be, should it come to pass in the course of the night.
