Another Motley Crew Blip
A bigger 'Motley Crew' photo than last time!
This was taken at the National Memorial Arboretum where we had our, RBL Riders Branch, memorial ride.
It was a round trip of 172 miles, a little shorter this time as I wasn't leading with my wayward satnav! I don't think anyone trusts me now but that's ok. It means I can move back in the line of bikes to take video of everyone riding.
With the names of those we have lost read out it appears to, thankfully, have been a quiet year for losing people. There were 19 names called out for the 'Roll of Honour'.
We are a very mixed bunch in the Royal British Legion Riders Branch. Amongst those in this photo there is a Lt Col who was in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders (as was my father after the end of WW2), a Lt Cdr Submariner, Another Lt Col in the REME Airborne (see the maroon beret), me an RAF Cpl Telegraphist, Grant (with the Pirate patch!) who was Royal Navy, I think it was HMS Sheffield he was on when it was struck by Exocet missiles and sunk in the Falklands war, the very tall one, Keith behind Grant, was a guardsman, Steven, middle front, was REME, Julie (Red head second from the left at the front, was Royal Gloucestershire Hussars and also played the Last Post and Reveille on her bugle today. Phil is standing behind Julie but I have no idea what he did, this is only the second time I've met him but he came up from South Wales to ride with us.
So you can see we are many and very varied but I am, for now, their leader :-)
There were many more there today, the above is just those that travelled from Gloucestershire.
