Drinking it In
A male orange tip butterfly taking a sip of nectar this afternoon at Rodley Nature Reserve on the outskirts of Leeds.
This reserve I hadn't explored before or even heard of but will certainly go back to. Situated in the Aire valley, a wetlands dug from scratch from rough grassland which transpired because when the water treatment works there was decommissioned in 1993 it was with the wish that the land should be made into a nature reserve. It is now brimming with wildlife with ponds and lakes next to the river.
A large red damsel in the Extra but there was a broad bodied chaser thundering round along side many mating azure and red damselflies. Come the Sumer it will be heaving with life.
