MORNING DRIVE

Once a month, Road America, hosts a group of car enthusiasts for a get-together known as Morning Drive.  There's coffee, orange juice, doughnuts, water and a presentation of some sort.

The presentation this time was by Ward Torke, long time Road America patron and one who worked on the track along with founder Cliff Tufte.  He had many stories to tell about what the track was like in the early days and the obstacles that had to be overcome to build the track.  He compared those day to what the facility is today.

He was followed by Mike Kertscher, President and General Manager of RA who spoke about all the off-season construction and additions to the facility.  That was followed by a Q&A session.

The driver's meeting followed and then the mass of attendees fired up their horses and took a few laps around the track to see the changes up close and personally......the Morning Drive.
