Gardening

I did a lot of re-arranging and re-potting in my courtyard garden today. I have a Lemon Cypress - Cupressus macrocarpa 'Goldcrest' - that was growing in a tall container in my courtyard, which it had clearly outgrown. So I bought a new, shorter container and this afternoon I wrestled it into its new container and moved it to the back deck where I hope it will be happy!

I re-potted the over-wintered begonias and generally puttered around moving, potting up, and tidying up. I'll post a photo one of these days - the gardens are looking pretty good! I have three spaces that I call gardens: The breezeway - a long, narrow space with gardens on both side of the covered path that connects the driveway with my courtyard; the Courtyard garden which I've spent a lot of time creating over the past 2 1/2 years (it's been that long already!); and my back deck which is bordered by containers and large pots. It's on the golf course and gets a pretty stiff breeze in the afternoon, so it's a bit of a fight for the fittest back there! Anyway, I'll post pictures when the plants are settled into their new spaces.

Meanwhile, in the breezeway garden I have a lovely clematis growing on a cool, twirly trellis. It's just starting to bloom. I have the tag somewhere and will dig up the cultivar one of these days, however a quick Google search suggests that it might be "Samaritan Jo Boulevard".
