Raising the Stakes
Saturday. Sunny, warm, and clear skies for most of the day, with a bit of haze first thing. I was up early to enjoy the morning's quiet with a nice coffee. Vanessa went out for an early walk, and I took a drive to go for a photo walk and catch the good light. My route took me down to the coast via Pineham and Guston, stopping occasionally along the lanes when a scene caught my eye—like this monochrome panorama, which shows several dramatically leaning wooden stakes on the roadside. After that, I drove to Canterbury via Chartham to run a few errands and buy fuel, and then home to enjoy the sunny afternoon in the garden.
Monty is on his travels again, visiting a friend in Utah for a couple of weeks. This morning, he flew from Heathrow to JFK, where he had an 8-hour stopover before catching the four-hour flight to Salt Lake City. We anticipate many stories and interesting photos over the next few days!
