We walked at Emsworth this morning, taking the route via the oak woodland on the foreshore along to the town and quayside, then onto the marina. The sea was in and a fresh sparkling blue in the morning sunshine. It was busy out especially on the water where sailors, rowers and kayakers were enjoying the warmth and contending with the brisk breeze. In town the flags were out to celebrate the 80th anniversary of VE Day earlier this week.

In the evening we joined a childhood friend of Andy’s, and his wife, for a meal at a pub in the South Downs. They are down from London for the weekend and it has been several years since we last saw them so there was lots to catch-up on.
