Contraption

This homemade contraption has been parked here for a few weeks. As you can see the grass is starting to grow rather well around it. The dog is quite interested in it - I suspect because other dogs are interested in it and it's become a bit of a surrogate lamppost.

The light was nice on the dogs walk today after work and I thought it would make for a different picture to yesterday.

After the dog walk and dinner I tackled my second IT task of the week and installed a pair of new SSDs into the Synology NAS replacing two larger but basically empty HDDs. I first had to install the official Synology software which failed on the first attempt after 60%, but was fine on the second attempt when I tried an older version. Once it was installed I let it automatically upgrade to the newest version. Everything went well and it certainly feels snappier than the older version - which was several years out of support and running on much slower disks. Tomorrow I'll copy all the data from the old disks onto it after recreating the required users.
