Peninsula Light

Pre-work visit to HIS for a the above to sharpening up some garden tool blades etc.

After work, a visit to Argos to collect an MPB parcel. Showed my bus pass for the requested photo ID, "Oh it says driving licence or passport, it doesn't mention bus pass..." My driving licence is the old paper type that doesn't have a photo, it is still valid despite many folk wrongly assuming otherwise, and my passport expired in 2010, so the photo in it was from ten years earlier. I'd reckoned it wouldn't be worthwhile using either. "Here's the printout of my received email saying the parcel's available for collection." No, she was still too fiert of terrible consequences if she didn't stick exactly to the rules. "But not everyone has a passport or driving licence, and there's no legal requirement in this country to posses some form ID - photo ID or otherwise, so your rule discriminates against such people." Common sense was distinctly lacking, and the customer left politely... but bloody annoyed.
