Cakes!!!

For Mother’s Day afternoon tea made by #1 son!!!!!!! Blew me away
Both cakes were ones my mum used to make often and all my kids remember her through these recipes. Tim obtained the recipes from his sister and made them today, all by himself AND had to do the shopping as well. I feel very loved.
Mum used to call the one with the almonds Flat Cake because, well, it’s flat! The second cake is a plain cake but the topping is cinnamon, sugar and butter. Truly decadent. It was just lovely to remember mum just tasting those flavours from way back.
