You got nothing to do but relax!
When you have wasted your body on a friday night, having at least one photo for the day after is quite an achievement.
This is the red current bush at the allotment.
We managed to get up there by 4 pm. Himself actually had a task to do - another Tap had fallen off, and now he is the expert of fixing.
I sat on the bench, and then thought I might water some stuff.
I watered the strawberries. I watered the flowers. I watered the other flowers I had forgotten about. I watered the garlic. I watered the onions. I watered the leeks and then got sad because nearly all of them had gone to seed. I have loved those leeks for 18 months and this is how they repay me.
I watered the peas. I watered the trees. I watered the other onions in the other bed. I watered the Jersey Royals, which of course, aren't Jersey Royals because we don't live in Jersey, but I did water the "International Kidneys.
I try to bear in mind at all times that plants are 90% water, and so in order to get them to their maximum potential, I have to ensure that 90% water, is available.
With no Rain, it means a lot of watering, and steps.
I met a lady up there, who someone else advised me not to engage with in conversation because once she starts she doesn't stop.
However, she was watering too. And It would be impolite to stand and say nothing. I understand now, why it was best not to engage.
She doesn't have a conversation with you. She says things, you nod, and she says more things. I asked her a question and she didn't answer me, she just started talking about something else. I made three attempts to get her to indulge in a bit of give and take, but each time, she completely ignored my words, and carried off on her own. How strange.
I had a "friend" like that. She seemed to want to cultivate a friendship. Invited me to her house. We discussed our children. (I think she thought that my Boy and her Girl would be a good match). But I realised that everytime she asked me a question, she lost interest. She turned and looked away, almost hummed a song, until I stopped talking and then she would ask me another question, and do the same thing, Until I stopped answering questions.
Tooli and I met her in town one afternoon, and I shouted Hello. Tooli would be able to see now. She greeted me warmly, "Hello Helen, how nice to see you, what are you up to? where are you headed". Nodded and waited for me to start talking. And then turned her head away and looked up and down the street as if waiting for something more interesting to happen.
I looked at Tooli, and we said "bye" and headed.
People are weird.
