Happy Somerset Day people.

There’s some zany japes going on in Watchet today to celebrate Somerset Day. Thought it best not to ask too many questions about the origin of this parade: sometimes it’s best not to know about these things! They can be a crazy bunch in these parts.

Basically it was a young lad and an even younger lad dressed up in boat costumes and doing a jig around the town, accompanied by a local band.

It was a lot more enjoyable than it sounds and it was good seeing locals and visitors alike coming out to celebrate a long standing tradition.

Followed this up with a coffee and then back for some lunch. A lazy afternoon for both of us after yesterday’s exertions.
