Eye to Eye

Alpine Snowbells …

… Soldanella Alpina are the first flowers to appear in the mountains after the snow melts. I always remember my good friend Martine who died totally unexpectedly, 5 years ago during the Covid pandemic, when I see these delicate flowers which were in bloom when I heard the news. This morning I left at 6am hoping to see some more Black Grouse. Now the cols are opening in Switzerland and you can access some places that you couldn’t before except on skis in the winter. So an extra of the wings of a Black Grouse and another of the mountainside, with crocuses, where they live.
(I had to have a serious nap this afternoon).

Huge thanks for your appreciation of the Wild Narcisses yesterday. I hope you’ve had a great weekend too.
