Street Party

We cycled from home into Monmouth (South Wales, UK) to meet up with friends and neighbours for coffee at 1.30pm. We got into Monmouth a bit earlier as I'd read there was to be a VE Day 80th Anniversary Street Party in Church Street.

The Brass Band had just stopped playing and four female vocalists sang without music or reading a few songs for the attendees to enjoy as my blipfoto shows.  The extra is of the Monmouth Mayor councillor David Evans who is elected for a year in the role that dates back about 750 years!! 

Getting home about 4pm, the forecast and much needed rain started. The lawns are desperate for it!  Good to have made the most of the sun today.
