Spring Delight
Oddly enough, the very area I blipped yesterday got a mention on Radio 6 Music this morning!
Today was very pleasant again, with a slight breeze keeping the temperature comfortable. We went to an RSPB reserve quite close to us - one we visit every year. It is very much a no frills reserve and the bit we visited today has just one viewing platform which overlooks a large reedbed and at this time of year is host to Hobbys and Marsh Harriers. There had been a report of a Purple Heron, but we didn’t see it. one of the highlights of the walk was the number and variety of butterflies. I think I saw more today than the whole of last Summer. Some of the paths nearby are lined with gorse and broom, which was in full bloom and in the warm sunshine smelled of coconut. the main picture is a Holly Blue butterfly and the one in extras is a Small Copper, but we also saw Speckled Wood, Brimstone, Peacock, Orange Tip, Red Admiral and Small White
