It’s Now Routine
Up showered and in Poppins Restaurant for breakfast with Sam, Josh and Tiana by 9:15 where the rest of the Woking Crew joined us.
Great breakfast as always, then to the taxi office.
Two taxi’s to Twickenham, almost the same cost as the train, quicker and no crush. Dropped at The Stoop we then walked to The Albany where we met the others. Experience has taught us not to take too much beer but what’s too much!!
Into the ground for 1:30, soaking up and enjoying the atmosphere, the banter, the camaraderie, everything that makes the Army v Navy Rugby Match such a great occasion.
Good seats, surrounded by family and friends, beer £31 for 4, a hot and sunny afternoon and a cracking match, what more would you want.
The Navy to win of course which they did, great rugby, great afternoon.
We stayed on for the Women’s match, completely different, an almost empty ground saw the Army run out winners 0-98, totally one sided as the score suggests.
The walk back to The Stoop finished off the beer before the taxi’s arrived to take us back to Woking. A Nando’s half chicken washed down with a cider completed the day.
Some more good natured chat on the way back to the hotel, no coffee just bed and sleep.
