Cory’s Shearwater

… a new bird to me. About 75% of the world’s population, nests in the Azores. We did see a huge number of them at sea today.
We did two RIB excursions today in mixed weather. There was sun, wind and at times, heavy rain.

RIB #1- 09.30-12.30
Cory’s Shearwater
2 x Sperm Whale
40+ Common Dolphin
1 x Loggerhead turtle

RIB #2 - 14.30-17.30
Cory’s Shearwater
5 x Sperm Whale
Common Dolphin
Bottlenose Dolphin

It was great to see so many creatures out in the ocean, hopefully more to come as the week goes on.
