Mothers’ Day Flowers
I bought some for myself in the supermarket behind two other women in the check-out queue who were doing the same! Then Dana showed up with a lovely bouquet, so I combined them.
The weirdness continues…I think I’m going to go with Blipper freespiral’s suggestion that it is Beltane and the fairies are very active. The bluebird was back at the front door this morning (another pane covered with newspaper. I put the comics up for her this time).
It’s a lot cooler today and I can see clouds coming up behind Sonoma Mountain, but it is also quite windy and right on cue the fire engines were roaring up Los Alamos Road behind our house. We’re getting a bit blasé

If only they would sign up for Watch Duty, an excellent interactive app that shows the status of all fires in the state (including a ‘fires near you’ button ) within just a few minutes of the arrival of the firefighters.
I just finished reading Careless People about the changes in the culture of Facebook from an idealistic desire to connect people from all over to a greedy, dangerously careless entity. Happy day to all you American guide, coach chauffeur, chef, maid, doctor, ref, mothers today.
