A Very Different Mother's Day....
When we came together at FBC this morning to worship and praise God for all He blesses us with and to honor our mothers, we had no idea what a different sort of service it would be from what we had prepared for. Before the service even got started, one of the ladies who was entering the choir loft, fell on the stairs, so EMS was called and the service was delayed in starting while they attended to her and we were quite relieved when she was able to get up and out on her way to the ER to get checked out. I have since seen a report on her condition----no broken bones, bruises and abrasions abound and she may have suffered some injury to her neck---but it could have been much worse. Because of the delay in starting the service, we skipped the choir special, sang the congregational songs and got right into the message from Pastor Wes who continued in Ruth this week, telling us that one of the important things we learn from Ruth is that God does His providential work in our lives, through ordinary people we meet every day and the other important thing is the God is always working for our good even when it doesn't seem like it. Pastor Wes had much more to say which you can see on the Live-stream. After lunch, we went to see my mom, sang some songs to her and she didn't speak, but I think she enjoyed it. The two Carnations are what I call the pareidolia sisters.......
