I spotted this Large Red Damselfly in the graveyard - the first I’d seen this year.

Later, 17yo and I had a walk out on the moor, across to Birch Close Lane Lane and then back down Sconce Lane, meeting Lapwing and Curlew en route. 

As a postscript to yesterday’s blip, we looked across to Ovenden Moor on the skyline, and saw the wind turbines shrouded in smoke (extra). I learned later that  this was a large wildfire on the Halifax side of the moor, off Cold Edge Road, had nine fire engines in attendance at one point, and was still burning at the end of the day.
