From the summit
This morning we walked over the Bridle Path from Heathcote to Lyttelton. This was the historical pathway taken by settlers who came out from the UK by boat in the 19th century. Once they arrived in the port at Lyttelton, they then had to walk over the hill to Christchurch. My maternal grandmother was carried by her father as a 1 year old in 1901. My photo is from the top of the hill, looking down to the port of Lyttelton and the harbour beyond.
