A Bit of a Hoarder
Today, M and I visited NT Snowshill Manor, near Broadway. The house was purchased by eccentric collector Charles Wade in the 1920s to house his ever increasing collection of art and curiosities.
He kept adding to the collection until the 1950s when he bequeathed it to The National Trust.
Charles carefully removed plaster from the walls and ceilings to return the house almost to a shell to stage his objects, choosing carefully placed lighting and natural light for the best effect.
He, and his wife lived in a cottage opposite the house and my extra features their bathroom. This inclusion also adds an additional image to my occasional series on the subject of toilets.
We enjoyed lunch in the garden of the NT cafe and just got back to the car as a thunderstorm broke.
