Beautiful and brutal

I think I was forgetting just how hilly this race is with 3 huge climbs to negotiate. This year was the third time I've run it, probably the hottest of the lot and I was very grateful of the water stations. I thought I was on to beat last year's time when I got to the top of Forest Hill at 11.5 miles but that's when my calves started to cramp as I started to run again. I had to stop twice on the finishing straight to stretch as the twitched. Still, given the conditions I'm reasonably happy with the time in the end...I'll have to go again if I want to get under the 2 hour mark.


The medal photos from here seem to be following a pattern of being around the bridge into Llanrwst, this time from below. I was hoping to get ice cream from the café but they didn't have anything I fancied so I wandered into town to get one instead and thought I should also buy plenty of fluids and proper food while I was there.
