Gannet

A cycle around Westray in the sunshine. I took quite a few shots of the gannets on Noup Head and chose this for the spread tail. Cycling back toward Pierowall village I stopped when I saw a birdwatcher friend, who lives on the island, looking through a scope. He showed me a distant white-tailed eagle on a hlllside. Just a blob, but still! There had been two but one had flown off. Other birds included a locally rare tree sparrow, whimbrels, bar-tailed godwits, purple sandpipers etc.
