Trixie's Adventures

We have a new best friend & Utility companies

Don't you just love it when you find someone that will support you? My human's new best friend, is 'Chris, the Energy Ombudsman guy', that has been helping her sort out problems that she has been having with EDF, re our flat in Edinburgh since November 2024. They keep missing each other on the phone, but today he sent through the proposal that should see EDF resolving our problem within the next 28 days. Phew!!! The only problem is.................. before she clicks, 'accept' on the proposal, she wants to know what will happen if they don't solve the problem???!!! She's emailed him and asked if she can have a 'real live chat' tomorrow between 8-10am.

For anyone who has been following the saga of our EDF problem (which has been ongoing since 18th Nov 2024 – Sorry my human is too tired to put in links cos she's got a lot more ranting about utility companies to do), we're hoping that it is now coming to an end. …...And as soon as EDF have actually managed to register the serial number on our meter (which was fitted in November), she'll be changing to 'Octopus Energy', who at least have staff that actually talk to you.

It was a very nice man at 'Octopus' that actually told Ann how to start the procedure with the Energy Ombudsman, otherwise we'd probably still be in dispute with the stupid people at EDF.

….......But not only have we got problems with EDF, we also have problems with 'TalkTalk'. My human never, ever, wanted to be with 'TalkTalk' because when she tried to switch to them about 15 years ago they really mucked her about. Long story short. We were with PO wifi, who got taken over by Shell Wifi, who got taken over by TALKTALK. Grrrrrrr................

It took her 54 mins to cancel our contract with 'talktalk' for our flat in Edinburgh. Oh & apparently they're going to send us a bag to return the router (which is actually a PO router so it's not going to be any good to them), but if we don't return it, they're going to charge us £150.

….............And then.............. our 'talktalk' contract in our St Ives house ends on 14th June. We're paying about £20pm for a really slow service, (which on 14th June is going to go up to about £33).

Ann has us secured us super fast fibre optic broadband with 'Plusnet' for £25pm. Bargain! Actually, she didn't do this; her friend, Derek did. Lol!

Oh, and if anyone is interested in where I've been Blipped today.................. I was down on Porthmeor Beach first thing this morning. Our weather app said it was going to rain all day so Ann wore her anorak. It didn't rain at all, so Ann felt like a right old pratt in her anorak. Lol!!!
