Ambling

The Shaft

My brothers bought us tickets to a Hidden London tour of the old Dover Street station, which is now essentially Green Park station, and that also covered some of the behind-the-scenes areas of the station. The lighting was challenging but in the extra captured a few interesting shots. I'm particularly keen on the lighting in the picture of the blocked off door which was in an old emergency stair shaft in Dover Street.
We were taken through some of the grey security doors which surprised a few of the passers-by and were able to look down onto active platforms (again in the extras). Other shots include areas which were converted into a bunker for the London Transport Executive Board during the war.
This shot is looking down a ventilation shaft that pulls air between the Jubilee and Victoria line platforms.
