Coots again
The single coot chick is doing very well - not surprising since it doesn't have to compete for food from its parents. Here it is sleeping off a big meal of pond snails (note its enlarged crop).
No report on the other family as they were nowhere to be seen in the vicinity of their nest.
I was glad to find no sign of any new wasp nest in the hide.
Before going to the loch, I revisited the coastal butterfies because on my visit a coupe of days ago I was sure I had seen a holly blue fly past. I stood for 10 minutes today at the same spot and sure enough, it flew past again. I will continue to revisit in the hope of getting a photo as this is a species that I have never seen before.
