A happy time

I wasn't happy with any of the photos I took today, so here is one of me about to blow out the candles on my birthday cake during our family dinner, taken by Manda.

When the twins came in, Max started talking to Lex and went on non-stop for quite a while.  The boys were excited, having come from a baseball game during which the Toronto Blue Jays routed the Seattle Mariners, 9-1.  Since Andrew of course supports Toronto, they were very pleased. 

 When Levi arrived, he huddled in with his mother and his father and took a long time to loosen up.  He sat with the adults, playing with all the toys, until a race began.  Manda was chasing the twins around the living room and kitchen and by the second time they passed him Levi decided to join in.  They all ran for a long time and it was wonderful to see how well he kept up with them.  I kept trying to snap a photo during the chase but I could never catch a moving target.  Everyone had a great time, whether running or watching.

Prompted, I think, by Andrew, the twins brought several books over to me for me to read to them!  We sat on the couch and read a fun book about pigs, Hansel and Gretel, and a pop-up book about mice.  It was such a pleasant surprise.
