Diversion Tactics
Inconveniently, a kildeer decided to make a nest in a well trodden area. They make their nests on the ground. Every time it is approached, the protective parent has a hissy fit, calling out loud warning sounds.
Even closer and it will call upon diversionary tactics, which consists of pretending to have a broken wing and lead the assailant away from the nest.
We'll have to stay clear for the next few weeks until the chicks hatch.
