I Read A Lot . . . Nick Lowe
This morning we drove to Picton to catch the ferry to Wellington. This afternoon we went for a walk in Newtown a suburb of Wellington I have never spent any time in. The buildings are old and the population diverse. We passed two halal butchers, a fruit and veg shop and a multitude of ethnic restaurants. All very surprisng to us. This second hand bookshop was interesting. I bought an early Geraldine Brooks - Calebs Crossing.
The reason for the visit is I am having surgery tomorrow and the hospital is in this part of town. Nothing life threatning so please don't feel you need to comment. I am nervious because I haven't been in a hospital since my son was born 38 years ago. I should be grateful for that.
