Tree’s Eye

Monday. Our very hot sunny spell continues, and I hear rumours that it is supposed to last for a couple of weeks. Canterbury traffic was dire this morning, and it took me nearly an hour to drive from the outskirts of the city to the office. The roads here are generally awful, but they reached fun new circles of Hell today. The day did not improve when I arrived at work, with a hectic shift ahead of me, followed by a particularly annoying meeting. I’m a grumpy old man at the best of times, but today I was definitely channelling my inner Victor Meldrew.

My luck improved on the way home. Traffic on the A2 coming into Dover was tailed back for a few miles… but I managed to spot this while I still had the opportunity to make a U-turn and divert onto the country lanes. This had the additional benefit of taking me past the lovely trees on Singledge Lane. I pulled over and found some great compositions in the evening light.
