Chaos in M&S food store this morning…

I headed down to town early to grab a few bits from M&S. I thought I was a bit too early when their automatic door wouldn’t let a lady and me in; and we knew they were open because there were people in the cafe. So I went to another door and got in fine. I told a member of staff who thought it was unlocked but apparently it was sticking. I was too early for the frui I wanted which I think is because of the time of the boat arriving here. I think there is a shortage of some clothes items but no shortage of any food items.
So I picked up what was available and walked through to the checkouts. There was a long snake of a queue. AT 8.45!! Their system was offline so the self service checkouts weren’t working so we all had to queue up. To make things worse you had to pay with a credit card/debit card or, heaven forbid, cash! So half the queue was people much younger than me who only had their phones which wouldn’t work. Poor staff will have to spend time putting stuff back on the shelves from the modern generation!
Coop seem to be having more problems than M&S in getting supplies so most of their shelves are nearly empty. Even Guernsey milk!!!

It’s Tiny Tuesday with a theme of something silver so you have a pic of my silver earring. It is certainly not a tiny earring but the links joining the various parts of the earring are very tiny and seems to fit the theme perfectly.

Yesterday my saying of the day was take care of the Pennies and the pounds will take care of themselves but John W https://www.blipfoto.com/JohnW has reminded me that that is only half the story because there is a saying ‘penny wise; pound foolish’ so that is my phrase today.
The phrase “penny wise, and pound foolish” is often mistakenly credited to Benjamin Franklin, but it actually originated with an Oxford Scholar named Robert Burton in his book, “The Anatomy of Melancholy” written in 1621!
