TINY TUESDAY - SOMETHING SILVER
Mr. HCB had been out in the garden since about 7 o’clock working before the sun came up too high - so when I came down at 8 o’clock, I did half an hour in the garden before I had my breakfast, which was very rewarding.
I took several shots of some beautiful Aquilegias ready for Tiny Tuesday, but then thought I should look at the theme for today, which is “Something silver”. I thought immediately of this tiny ornament, which is only one inch at its highest point, the reeds at the back of this tiny kingfisher, holding a fish in its mouth.
This was bought many years ago, when our boys were small, from a little shop in Budleigh Salterton High Street. I remember seeing this and thinking that Mr. HCB would love it for his birthday, so took the boys into the shop and asked if they would like to buy it for him, which they said they would. Purchase done, we then had to keep it a secret until the birthday, which I think they managed although probably one or two hints were dropped!
It was looking rather the worse for wear when I got it down from the shelf this morning, but a quick dip in the Hagerty’s Silver Clean brought it up a treat, so it's my offering for Tiny Tuesday and would you believe it - two days following “on theme” - whatever is happening? M xx
