Around the Block

At ninety-nine years and five months old, having just celebrated her 100th May Day, Mum slipped away this evening at 8.22 pm UK time, after one, last, gentle breath.

Dd and I were at her bedside, holding her hands and stroking her brow, with the fullest of full moons, outside, illuminating her onward path to a place, we pray, that is full of wonder and joy.

It has been fulfilling to have been with her these last three days and nights, giving voice to our love and gratitude, and voicing what she would, no doubt, have wanted to say to us, had she been able to do so.

I will compose and deliver a eulogy in due course but, meanwhile, her story up to her 90th birthday can be found on this blip . . . in the photo at the top of this blip she is 98 years old!

Thank you so very much for all your loving comments and best wishes these last few days; every one of them is very much appreciated.

Mum, even in your final hours you looked beautiful. Rest in peace.
