CAFE WITH A VIEW

This morning we took Garron into town as he needed to send a couple of small packages.  It was actually quite busy down there but pleasantly so and getting very warm.

We then decided we would go to Brooke Supplies for a light lunch.  We arrived too early really and we didn't mind sitting with a nice drink, chatting and looking at the view in the blip.  Not a bad view to have whilst eating lunch.

I've probably posted this before but I thought you might like to know a llittle bit about Flookburgh.
Flookburgh is an ancient village on the Cartmel Peninsla in Cumbria, England. It used to be part of Lancashire and being close to Morecambe Bay, cockle and shrimp fishing played a big part in village life.

Flookburgh has a Havens Holiday site called Lakeland Leisure Park.  There is a nice gentle walk, about a mile I think, from there along the side of the estuary, which can be very pleasant on a nice day.
Flookburgh is sometimes thought to derive its name from a flat fish, known as the Fluke, found in the area. (Many people in Flookburgh say, in fact, that Flookburgh wasn't named after the Fluke; the Fluke was named after the village.) However, it is far more likely that the name is Norse, an adaptation of 'Flugga's Town'.
Brooke Supplies is within a stone's throw of the village of Cark and it's tiny station.  It is a small homeware store and garden centre combined and has an excellent cafe.  We go quite often but not usually on a Tuesday.  It was quite quiet today, but then we were rather early, I hadn't realised it wasn't yet midday!!!
That's all from me for today, do take care and stay safe and I will see you all tomorrow.
