The Waiting Room

I got up quite early, walked Ziggy then took him to our vet's practice which is just outside Sidmouth. He didn't seem over bothered when i left but I think he was expecting liver treats which they usually give him. Not today though as he's been nil by mouth since yesterday evening as he was having a general anaesthetic.
I had several hours to kill, so visited a local garden centre first. They don't allow dogs so I haven't been in there before. I have no problem with not allowing dogs but it's difficult when I'm on my own as I don't want to leave him the car especially when it's really warm like today.
After coffee and a shortbread (which I didn't need!) I then bought a geum, a collapsible trellis, and a 3-pronged hand-held lightweight cultivator -none of which I needed. I put those in the car, went back in to use the ladies' loo, and purchased yet another bird feeder and an agapanthus bare root - neither of which I need!!
I then went into Sidmouth and enjoyed a leisurely (for me) walk round. I bought a sandwich and cold drink underneath Jacob's Ladder in the shade, and sat and just enjoyed the view until the vet called me and it was time to collect Ziggy.
I drove home with him in his crate wearing the cone of shame in case he started to lick his wound.
I'm now home and he's following me about like a shadow - he probably thinks I may leave him again! I've got painkillers and antibiotics for him and fingers crossed he'll be ok now.
This is the view from the vet's waiting room. Well not actually his waiting room but it's at Jacob's Ladder where I ate my sandwich and waited for the phone call. Not a bad place to wait.
My extra is looking up at Jacob's Ladder when someone happened to be coming down.
