High Rigg
Number 209 on the Wainright list. Not my list. A small fell 357 metres high.
AM and I parked at St.Johns in the Vale. We walked down into St.Johns in the Vale and along towards Thirlmere.
Then came the incline up over the top of High Rigg. I didn’t think it was too bad until we started walking along the top of the ridge back towards our starting point. There were lots of undulations. It was 24 degrees, very windy. The views all around were spectacular. Thirlmere is getting very low on water. See photo. We had lots of little stops and drinks along the way.
We completed our walk with a sense of achievement. My lungs did me proud, after having issues earlier on in the year.
