Life through the lens...

Whitesands Bay.

Beautiful day.
Lunch sat in the beach eating Cornish pasties!
Yes. Made in Cornwall, cooked in Wales, and they were the genuine article too!

The morning we had spent in St Davids. The smallest city in Britain. No bigger than a village, but delightful
We were here to visit the Cathedral. ( see extra of my memories )
A magnificent building was begun in 1181 and added to over the years.
The interior is also magnificent. Parts very old, but also new additions.
A must to visit if in the area.

After lunch we drove to the tiny harbour of Porthgain.
A little village with a fascinating industrial past.
From quarrying slate, to making bricks, and in the 29th century crushing bricks for road stone.
The ruins of this industry can be seen along the quayside. Ships would come in to the harbour where they were loaded up ti take the stone all over the country. ( see 2nd extra)

The weather has been very warm and sunny. 23C.
Fortunately the thunderstorm waited until after we had got back to the cottage.
