(133) Deception

The weather forecast, apparently, doesn't account for the appearance of sea mist/fog/haar/fret (delete as applicable). I had intended to cycle an inland loop from Edinburgh to North Berwick, via Dalkeith, Haddington, East Linton, Tantallon Castle, etc, but by the time I reached Musselburgh it was obvious that the east coast was completely engulfed in water vapour and thus was not the best destination for a warm and sunny day on the bike. Plan B involved an exploration of some inland cycle routes and 'B' roads which eventually led me to Gladhouse reservoir. It was very peaceful there so I stopped for half an hour to appreciate the tranquility. From there I took the road to Penicuik and then stopped in to see my brother at his material science lab at the Midlothian Innovation Centre. If you should happen to have a material science problem, this is where you should go for answers! By the time I left, the haar had made its way inland so the ride back to Waverly station was somewhat cooler than I would have liked. I was glad I had packed my arm warmers. At the station I arrived at the wrong ticket barrier and then had to run/push/carry the bike up and down two sets of stairs to get to platform 20 for the train home. I made it with a whole 60 seconds to spare. Main blip is from the prom at a sunny Portobello. First extra is from NCN1 between Dalkeith and Penicuik, and the last extra is from Gladhouse reservoir.
