Back At MHS

I headed up to my old stomping grounds, MHS, where I have served on a scholarship committee the last few years. Before the meeting, I met up with my granddaughter Elle, and my friend Kerrie, to give them a copy of my new book Vision, a poetry collection. Elle is student teaching there (love that she is in my old school), and Kerrie and I were in the English department there. She is now the yearbook advisor, a position I held for all of my 15 years there. She is also the artist for the covers of three of my books. She is an incredible artist. It’s nice to visit my old school, seeing a few old friends, and now with Elle in the mix. So cool.

We chose four scholarship winners, outstanding students, and very deserving.
