The Point Of Abstraction, Dockside Centre, Chatham
We were intending to have a quiet day at home today but then had a call from a family member who needed an emergency laptop drop off in Chatham. Therefore, while in the vicinity we decided to visit the Dockside Shopping Centre. We hadn't been there in years so it was nice to walk around it and see what was new. It's a slightly strange place and some of the commercial premises were empty but it does have the advantage of being next to a lovely bend of the River Medway looking across to St. Mary's Island. As we were getting thirsty after our stroll we headed to The Ship & Trades pub that overlooked the marina. As the weather was again so lovely we sat outside with our drinks so that we could soak up the sun for a bit. On the way back to the car I spotted this very colourful door next to a construction site. I rather like the wonkiness of all the lines in the frame and I thought it had a strange sort of Japanese feel to it - like It could have been taken down a side street in Tokyo or Osaka, but maybe that's just me!
