Tranquillity

Although we are regular visitors to Larch Cottage Nurseries, I had never been to see the Chapel, which I knew was at the far end of the nurseries. Today we got to visit it - what a wonderful place.

The Chapel was built in 2014 by the owner of the business, for his own wedding. It is part of private gardens that are open at certain times as part of RHS Open Gardens Scheme, and with an admission fee for charity, one can visit.

Today we went to the restaurant for lunch (good thing we booked as it was very busy) and then we walked down to the far end of the nurseries, paid our £5 and went in. We wandered through a lovely garden in the sunshine and then, to our surprise, we came to the most beautiful lake and there across the water was the chapel. It is an idyllic setting, so peaceful. It was good to be able to sit in the sunshine and the tranquility. And yet the air was full of bird song and insect life.

Well worth the visit. It felt like a day out despite only being a short distance from home.
