A little reminder!

This morning I was out earlier than usual and I went to Stormont Estate in east Belfast, the site of the Northern Ireland Assembly and former parliament.  I used to work here some years ago and I was surprised by how much things have changed since those days.  The paths through the woodland areas are not the ones I remember.  However I did come across this reminder of bygone days.  This structure is a series of anchor points for WW2 barrage balloons.  Parliament Buildings was a target and indeed there is still a WW2 bomb crater in the woodland area.  It used to be used for burning confidential waste, now it is preserved as a reminder.
