Life Goes on

Everyone has things to do and places to get to, despite the feeling that we’re still clutching onto life from the last few days.

After Jean passed away last night and Bb had put into motion the next key steps related to that, we decided it best to drive through to Edinburgh and stay with Dot. We could get a good night’s sleep in a bed, have a shower, and it would save us making the trip in the morning. We did that, with care, knowing that we were tired and emotionally drained. Never has a sandwich and a glass of wine tasted better than when we arrived at just before midnight.

This morning, after a catch up with Dot and the most delicious bacon sandwiches ever, she dropped us at the airport. We’re now in Madrid, have settled into our usual hostal in our usual room, and out for a walk round Plaza Mayor and then dinner at our usual first-night dinner at the local Korean restaurant. Bb will work tomorrow on the IESE business school campus.

Life goes on and so it does and we’re thankful for that. A HUGE thank you to everyone who left comments, stars and hearts these last few days. It’s been difficult and you’ve all helped make it more gentle. Really. Thank you all.
