This plant grows in my front garden. The red parts hold all the seeds.
Continuing from getting nowhere yesterday with David, supposedly a renal consultant’s secretary, I phoned again today as he had not got back to me as promised. Twice I had to listen to the unanswered phone ringing until it cut off. On the third call I got a lady who said she dealt with ‘endocrine’ not kidneys, but she was ‘covering’ both areas. I learned that the office where the renal secretaries work is at the other end of the hospital from where the renal consultants operate! She also could find no record of my biopsy appointment or my discharge better. She said she would get back to me. She did.
The ‘urgent appointment’ I had been promised had not been made. This was because the discharge letter had been written but not uploaded!, so no action could be taken on it because no one had seen it. Does the NHS need more money, or just less incompetent people? I was told that when Consultants were emailed by their secretaries they did not always reply quickly because ‘they are ‘very busy’. This secretary made me my ‘urgent appointment’ which should have been made last Friday but it is two weeks away. She is going to try and get me my discharge letter. She told me that David was ineffective in dealing with me on the phone yesterday because he has ‘difficulty with communication’ . But he’s supposed to be a renal consultant’s secretary!
Sorry if this makes boring reading but I need it for my own records. I am virtually no further forward in getting help for my kidney failure since my last Consultant appointment in mid April. My condition is not improving while I wait.
