Newton Pools

Mum was feeling very tired after a poor nights sleep so opted to have a relaxing day at home whilst we went looking for birds. After a walk halfway across the causeway at Holy Island looking for dotterel and American Golden Plover, we had lunch at the Barn at Beal and then headed to Low Newton by the sea to look for a Temminck’s Stint.
Eventually we saw it, but it was a long way away and not near enough for a photo.
So instead, here are two of the wild horses having a drink and a scratch in front of the hide.
