Weeds!

Being as I haven’t done any weeding today, despite the fact that it was sunny and warm outside, I thought I’d show you why I’m not keen.
The weeds are bigger than me! This view is looking towards the hen house door, and there’s two big clumps of nettles nearby, with more weeds outside their fenced area.
Before I kept chickens, and when I was waiting for them to arrive, I read that they like to eat nettles, boiled up with potato peelings. Just in case you’re thinking this is a good use of nettles, let me tell you it absolutely isn’t true! They wouldn’t touch their dinner, and I’ve given them layers pellets ever since!
