Aretium...

...the truffle hunters' dog. The hunters rang to say that Aretium had found three large black summer truffles - fruit of a thunderstorm in an oak forest and the waxing moon. We bought two of the three for 42 euro - enough for Tagliatelle al Tartufo for 8 to 10 people, so we will ring round our Italian friends who will be happy to help us to eat them :-))

The breed is Lagotto Romagnolo, originally a gun dog or water retriever from Romagna, but today mainly used for truffle hunting
