A Beehive Here Inside my Heart

One of the best things I came home with from my mom's on Sunday was this piece of artwork. Mom was looking to give some things away and felt she had never seen this before. Well, I'm sure she had but it's been tucked away for a long time.
The artist is/was Anne Stratton. She stayed out at my mom's for a while many years ago. Anne was a troubled soul and struggled with mental illness. I think she ended up just leaving town and left a lot of her belongings behind. I have a small sculpture of hers that is wire and crystals. She  would make quirky little poems and use fabric as in this one. I took one look at it and said, "That's Anne's!" I absolutely love what she has written. As soon as I get a new screw to hang it on it will go up on the wall.
I don't know if she is still alive but I'm glad I can honor her by loving her art.
