Male Wall

Back to the walls.  All still present in the same locations.

I looked up the sexual differences in this species and can confirm that all five or six specimens have been males.  I don't know if females emerge later or are just more secretive.

The abundance of wall butterflies in the UK has fallen 25% in 10 years, although it has extended its range northwards.  I read today that the first confirmed sighting of one has just been made near Perth (30 miles NW of me).  Onwards and upwards.

As for the (holly) blue, it flew past once in the half hour I was there and followed the same route as before without stopping.  Not sure what to do next.
